United Nations Ave. Chiropractic Center, Inc. derives its name from the location of the original clinic in Physicians Diagnostic Services Center (a Secondary Hospital) at 533 United Nations Avenue. After graduation from Life Chiropractic College - West in 1987, Dr. Ronald Mitchell and Mr. Willie Britt were invited to the Philippines to share the pioneering knowledge of Chiropractic. At that time, there was only one recognized Chiropractor in the Philippines who had graduated from an accredited college in the United States. That doctor was Dr. Jameson Uy. After numerous trips and discussions with members of the academic and health care communities, Dr. Mitchell and Mr. Britt established two Chiropractic clinics (United Nations Chiropractic Center) in Metro Manila (Ermita - 1990) and (Pasig - 1991).
STANDARDS OF CARE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
As early as 1990, our primary concern was the quality of care to our patients. We established the standard that the care provided had to be at a level equal to or greater than that provided by chiropractors in the United States. Therefore, as early as 1990, as part of our self imposed clinical facilities accreditation and professional employment criteria, all doctors on our staff had to, as a minimum, meet the following:
Show proof of graduation from an accredited chiropractic college recognized by the Chiropractic Council on Education.
Proof of certification by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Proof of having obtained a chiropractic license in one of the 50 United States, a U.S. Territory, or another country that grants licenses that are recognized by the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB).
Pass a background check and maintain a standard of personal and professional conduct that does not warrant any disciplinary action to be taken.?
Due to family and other commitments, Dr. Mitchell returned to the United States in 1992 and established Makati Chiropractic Center in Pacifica, California. Dr. Mitchell has been an integral part of the Bay Area region since that time and he continues to be involved with United Nations Chiropractic Center. Please visit the website www.makatichiro.com.
In 1993, Dr. Walter Brush took the helm as the Director of Clinics and has done an excellent job upholding and promoting the highest standards of health care. To ensure the standard of care and quality of our staff, Dr. Brush has personally been involved with clinical operations at all locations. To this day, we continue to enforce our original motto:
"WE SHALL ACCEPT ONLY THOSE CASES WHICH WE BELIEVE WE CAN HELP."
We pride ourselves on the diversity and sensitivity that all of our offices provide. When you become a patient at United Nations Chiropractic Center (UNCC), we welcome you into the practice and our family. We take distinct pride in providing the best service and ensuring that your health care needs are met. From your initial intake to continuing treatment for you or family members and friends, you will find that both the doctors and the staff are friendly and very caring.
